Bošča is a rectangular apron with straight cut of edges, worn at the front side of the traditional Serbian women’s dress. It is an item of great symbolic value. Weaving of bošča aprons is part of knowledge and skills related to traditional crafts developed in the area of Kosovsko Pomoravlje. Weaving is done on a loom, as a part of the general textile-producing tasks performed by the female members of a household. Bošča aprons are held to high esteem in the villages of Kosovsko Pomoravlje, especially during the celebration events such as weddings, when they are worn by leading women participants of these events as an indispensable element of formal costume.
