Filigree craft

Кратак опис:

As a technique of making silver and gold jewellery, filigree was very widespread in goldsmith’s trade in Serbia in the past and was part of the heritage of urban environments, dating back to the Middle Ages. Filigree jewellery is part of the folk art of decoration, both in rural and urban environments, whereas rings, armlets, earrings and necklaces are passed down from one generation to another and are given as gifts at birth, baptism or wedding.

The tradecraft is usually transferred within the family and members of the Berisha family, based in Kraljevo, are the bearers of this element who perpetuate the tradition of the family craft started in Prizren.
